Featured Event: World Oceans Day Celebration / June 7 & 8

Join us for a two-day celebration of the amazing ecosystem that covers 70 percent of our planet. You’ll learn about the treasures of the ocean, the threats it faces and what we can do to keep it healthy. On Saturday, June 7 we’ll host a presentation of the inaugural Paul Walker Ocean Leadership Award to surfer, actress, supermodel and healthy-ocean advocate Marisa Miller. The award honors Paul’s memory and his commitment to ocean conservation by recognizing individuals who use their public stature to support ocean causes and philanthropic ventures. We’ll also present our Youth Award to 17-year-old Ailis Dooner, a Teen Conservation Leader at the Aquarium. Celebrate the entire weekend with live musical performances, crafts, sustainable seafood samplings, special bilingual programming and more! Goodguys 21st Summer Get-Together/ May 31-June 1

The weekend includes a giant show and shine with American made cars and trucks of all years. Sesame Street Live: Make a New Friend / June 6-8

It doesn’t matter where you come from or where you’ve been, every is special- so join in! Elmo, Grover, Abby Cadabby and the rest of their Sesame Street friends welcome Chamki, Grover’s friend from India to Sesame Street. Monterey Wine Festival/ June 6-8

California’s longest-running wine festival celebrates its 38th anniversary. Wine lovers will find hundreds of wines offered for tasting waiting for them at the festival.  The celebration kicks off Friday with luxurious food prepared by award winning chefs from the West Coast served with an array of wines. Saturday will continue with the Annual West Coast Chowder Competition. Sunday will conclude the celebration with seafood and live music. El Dia de San Juan Festival/ June 7

The Western Region Puerto Rican Council presents its 36th annual festival. The event invites all diverse cultures to participate in celebrating the Puerto Rican community. The festival will be offering authentic Puerto Rican food, live bands and family fun while showing support for their cause to raise funds for students who want to pursue a higher education. Monterey Beer Festival/ June 14

The Monterey Beer Festival brings over 80 breweries straight to the community. People will have a chance to taste unusual offerings from major beer companies as well as fantastic beer from unknown brewing companies from around the globe. Conscious Eating & Lifestyle Fair/ June 14-15

VVOGGS is all that is Vegan, Vegetarian, and Organic, Gluten-Free, or Sustainable. Ranging from healthier eating choices to green living products, it can all be found under one roof at the Conscious Eating & Lifestyle Fair. Visitors can sample foods from vendors who specialize in VVOGGS foods, learn from experts in healthy eating and living, and discover locally sourced foods. Dia de Portugal/ June 14

The Portuguese Heritage Society of California hosts its festival and invites all the Portuguese community and everyone from diverse backgrounds to join them in celebration of Portuguese culture. The day will be filled with food, entertainment, including their traditional Portuguese parade. Admission is free. Vans Warped Tour/ June 21

The trendy Vans Warped Tour arrives at the Shoreline Amphitheatre back for another year promising to be the biggest Vans tour to date. The warped tour is an outdoor music and extreme sports festival. The tour began as a showcase for punk rock music but has evolved to more diverse genres. A main attraction to the festival is the inclusion of bike ramps and half-pipes for skaters and Bikers. Free Movies On the Beach/ June 25

The Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk invites everyone to bring his or her family and a blanket or low back chair to watch a movie right on the beach near the world famous Giant Dipper roller coaster lights twinkling above. Movie begins at 9p.m. with a 15-minute intermission. Seating is first come first serve. Admission is free.
