For over 30 years, actor and comedian Cheech Marin has been collecting Chicano art. His collection consists of 700 works from all mediums including painting, sculpture and photography by Chicano artists.

In collaboration with the city of Riverside and the Riverside Art Museum, Cheech will be sharing his art collection to create the Cheech Marin Center for Chicano Art, Culture and Industry in downtown Riverside. Supporters for this project need to raise $3 million to fix the future to transform the existing facility into an art gallery designed with space for art classes, lectures and programs. The scope of the project includes fixing the 1960s library’s roof, heating and air conditioning system and elevator.

Cheech Marin has so many accomplishments as an actor, comedian and advocate for our community. I am so excited to see Cheech’s vision to create the first Chicano Museum come to life.
