This week on April 10 it was Dolores Huerta’s birthday and the official Dolores Huerta Day that CA Governor Jerry Brown signed into law.
Sponsored by Assemblymember Eloise Gómez Reyes (D-Grand Terrace) the law requires the CA Governor to annually proclaim April 10 (Dolores’ birthday) as Dolores Huerta Day. This day will have special significance and would encourage all public schools and educational institutions to observe that date by conducting exercises remembering the life, accomplishments and contribution Dolores Huerta made to the State of California and our Nation. Young learners will learn about her work in social justice and civil rights as she brought attention to the farm worker community and equal pay.
Si Se Puede!
