Meet the artist, Kathy Cano-Murillo, who created the Modern Latina Book Club’s beautiful heart logo. Kathy, otherwise known as the Crafty Chica is one multi-talented mujer, she is not only a talented artist but also the founder of award-winning brand and blog, author, creativepreneur, blogger, and speaker.
Kathy wanted to follow her inner passion to live doing what she loved – writing and making art. And she found her niche and launched CraftyChica.com, a wildly popular web site to inspire women to brighten their lives with clever lifestyle ideas. The site began as an online diary about juggling family, a full-time job as a newspaper reporter, and a craft designer by night. CraftyChica.com evolved into a well-rounded lifestyle site that is anchored in DIY and crafts but also embraces books, shopping, fashion, business, movies, food, travel, beauty, tech, family life, and more.

That was just the beginning for Kathy, with a lot of perseverance and support from her husband and family In between raising two kids, a full-time job, her art business, web site, and authoring books – she went to night school for my BA! Fast forward several years, and Kathy is now a full-time creativepreneur, which has led to multiple Crafty Chica mass retail product lines, and collabs with Coca-Cola, HSN, HP, WordPress, Disney & many others. And she has authored seven craft books, two novels, and recently, Forever Frida: A Celebration of the Life, Art, Loves, Words, and Style of Frida Kahlo
