Geometric Mosaic Mural – Chalk Art Kid’s Activity

Chalk wall art is a fun activity for the kids and is an fun way to add some color to your backyard. My kids, like so many other kids, are bored being stuck in the house. I wanted to get them outside, enjoy the sun, fresh air, and tap into their creative juice

I decided to have them make some cool geometric-inspired mosaics on the backyard fence. This mural is such an easy project to do with your kids, and  it only requires two items and your imagination to create it.

What you’ll need:

  • Painters tape
  • Sidewalk chalk

Steps:

  1. Place the tape in the desired shape for the mosaic. We opted to go with a simple rectangle shape filled with various forms inside.
  2. Start coloring the gaps between the tape in various colors.
  3. Pull the tape off to display the final work of art.

My girls had as much fun pulling off the tape for the big reveal as coloring the chalk art. The finished pieces looked terrific, and I hope the murals will stay intact so that we can enjoy looking at them.

Now my kids can say they worked on their first mural!
