2011 marks the 28th anniversary of the Festival of the Arts. The first festival was held in 1983 in the Fremont Hub. The Festival of the Arts is the largest two-day street festival west of the Mississippi, with an attendance of approximately 385,000 and at least 650 artisans. Tito Y Su Son De Cuba – Mountain View Summer Concert Series | August 11
Heriberto “Tito” Gonzalez, “El Trecero mayor”, arrived in the Bay Area in the summer of 2000. His music is typical and primarily “El Son”, the music you know from The Buena Vista Social Club. “Tito” plays a Cuban instrument similar to the guitar, called the Tres. “Tito” teaches, plays and jams in the Bay Area “Cuban Son” scene. Once again, Fiesta de Artes will fill the Civic Center grounds to present the Town of Los Gatos’ one and only art and wine festival.
