I can’t believe it is already back to school time.

My daughter is in preschool and I want to start a back to school routine to set her up to be successful this year and onward. And to be frank, for me too! There are so many things to juggle for my daughter – homework, class projects, ballet practice, field trips, school parties, and more that I need solutions to keep our family on track.

Thankfully, my little one spends time with her Abuelitos after school. I have so many fond memories of time with my Abuelitos, especially during la merienda when we would enjoy a snack and play a game of Chinese checkers. I looked forward to my time with my Abuelitos and it makes me so happy that my daughters are now sharing special moments with my parents.

Here are some ideas to start this school year on the right track!

FuelForSChool9Simple Meals – There are nights that you are working late, have a school project or attending a school event for your kids, and in those situations it’s great to have easy meal and snack options on hand so that you can spend more time with your family. My daughter loves the delicious corn dogs with its honey-sweetened cornbread batter-yum! One of our family favorites is State Fair® Classic Beef Corn Dogs for a quick afternoon snack or Jimmy Dean® Sausage, Egg & Cheese as an on-the-go meal.

Back to School Chart – A check list for my little one (and me) to make sure she stays on top of a nightly routine. Here are a few tasks that I included on the list:

  • Fuelforschool6Homework done
  • Backpack ready
  • Clean room
  • Reading time
  • Clothes ready
  • Bath time
  • Bed on time

This is a fun project to do with you little one. They can help to decorate it and make it their own which will get them excited to keep track of their nightly tasks.
