“You’re out of options. Go home. Now!”

Words like that make some people quit but drive others to preserver, and those words did just that for Claire, played by Ashley Platz, a street mechanic, aiming to beat her brother’s nemesis on the tar.

American Muscle, a short by Nick Martinez a local film producer and writer, is showing at Cinequest now.

Not only does this movie speak to the women who love cars, but to all Bay Area natives, because we have always had a love affair with cars, whether it be love for hot rods, lowriders, or newer sports and luxury rides. Martinez brings his love for American muscle cars and drag racing to the screen. Get the rush of the race as “Badass” Platz (https://www.imdb.com/name/nm2396853) steps into what has traditionally been a man’s world.

Experience the rush of this 20 minute film, hear the engines roar, and see the beautiful Bay Area like it’s never been captured in a film yet.
