We are so excited to launch the Modern Latina Book Club. For 2017, the book club will feature works by Latina authors from all genres.
Organizing ourselves to read together is a wonderful and powerful way to share and embrace our commonalities and diversities. Reading can bring people together by sharing a similar experience and reconnect us to our culture.
“This was an idea that was in the works for sometime,” says Linda Castillo, founder of Modern Latina. “I am delighted that we can support and feature the work of Latina authors by bringing the excitement and love of reading to the Modern Latina audience.”
Fostering the mingling of interests, ideas and knowledge, Latinas from variety of professional backgrounds will curate the virtual book club. Each month a new book will be featured and throughout the month readers are encouraged to get involved sharing their thoughts and reflections. Activities will vary monthly and will include unique giveaways, interviews with the author and more. The year will conclude with an event to celebrate Latinas in literature.
