Every other Wednesday, my little one goes to the movies with her abuelitos. The Secret Life of Pets looks like a funny movie for my little one and a great movie for her next outing with her abuelitos. In fact, this promotion is perfect because I will be able to have a ticket for my daughter and give the $8 movie voucher to my parents.
DIY Craft: Toilet Paper Roll Pets
In anticipation for The Secret Life of Pets movie, we made some fun pets from toilet paper rolls. In our home we like to recycle. Usually, these toilet paper rolls are put in our recycling bin but I keep a few on hand for craft projects with the kids. Especially during the upcoming summer months, there will be plenty of time to do this fun easy craft idea with the kids while enjoying a healthy snack from Mott’s.
Materials:
- Acrylic paint
- Paint brush
- Color construction paper or scrapbooking paper
- Glue
- Scissors
- Permanent marker
- Punches if you have any on hand for scrapbooking
Instructions:
1) Paint the toilet paper roll. Have fun and use creative colors.
2) Press the top of the tube down so that it is closed. This process will create the ears for your pets.
3) Create the eyes, feet, tail and any other accessories you would like to add by cutting the shapes from the construction paper or scrapbooking paper. For the tail, I made a simple ‘s’ shape. Then glue all items to the toilet paper roll.
4) Use the marker to add any other features such as whiskers to your pet.
