The change is brought upon by her move from the suburbs to the city, and the taunting and rejection directed towards her by her husband’s new co-workers. In an effort to try and alter her looks and fit into her new environment, Carmen pressures her husband Alfredo into starting a diet together, while at the same time discovering that the only thing that makes her happy is her newfound cooking class and friends.
As the transformations begin, Carmen and Alfredo’s relationship is put to the test and she is left to discover that true beauty comes from within, and that paradise is a lot closer to home than she thinks.
