This was a big year with my little one who started Kindergarten. We did a lot of back-to-school shopping to get her ready for her first day of school. It was an all day excursion shopping for cute outfits for every day of the week and school supplies to fill up her new Shopkins backpack. Whether you are shopping at the local mall or adding items to the shopping cart from your favorite online store, here are some smart shopping tips from CHASE’s Financial Education Partner, Brittney Castro, founder of Financially Wise Women.
- Shop at respected retailers and only secure websites beginning with URLs beginning with “https”
- Try not to make purchases on public Wi-Fi networks
- Set up a hotspot on your smartphone to have access to private WI-FI network
- Create strong passwords using numbers, letters and symbols
- Be sure to use the chip instead of swiping your card
Brittney’s tips are so easy to incorporate into my everyday life. Watch the full CHASE Fraud video below to learn more fraud protection tips or visit chase.com/fraudsecurity.
With the holidays right around the corner, be sure to use some of these tips the next time you are shopping to keep your accounts more safe and secure.
