April 15 – May 2, 2010
Teatro Visión closes its season with a daughter’s story of individuation that journeys beyond its Portales, New Mexico setting through the surprising night terrain of dreams. Leonard Madrid’s magical tale follows Perla as she stalls an impending marriage to roam her dreamscapes in an effort to find and save her abandoning father – a renowned womanizer and Norteño singer. Winner of the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival Latino Playwright Award, Perla explores the power of the subconscious to resolve inner turmoil impenetrable to the waking mind and move us forward to meet our lives. Presented in English with Spanish subtitles.
