Happy National Latina Day! Since 2015, August 20th has been dedicated to honoring all the amazing Latinas out there who are making waves, achieving their goals, and spreading positivity. Whether it’s in their homes, schools, or simply by embracing the strength and beauty of womanhood, Latinas are shining bright today and every day!

It’s a time to celebrate the incredible achievements and impact of Latina trailblazers. Today, we shine a spotlight on Marissa Solis, the Senior Vice President of Global Brand and Consumer Marketing at the National Football League (NFL). She’s on a mission to amplify the diverse and vibrant stories of Latinos and Latinas across the league.

I had the pleasure of meeting Marissa at the 2023 Silicon Valley Latino Leadership Summit, where she was honored with the prestigious Pioneer Leadership Award. Her passion for uplifting her community, rooted in her South Texas upbringing, is truly inspiring. Marissa believes in giving a voice to the unheard and shining a light on the richness of Latino culture in the world of football.

“Embrace your Latinidad. Use it to break barriers. Use it to be a pioneer. Bring your community up with you and become the ambassador we are all meant to be,” she expressed in her acceptance speech. Marissa is a shining example of living out these words.

With a massive fan base of around 35 million devoted Latino NFL enthusiasts, Marissa is reshaping the game. Through initiatives like the “Por la cultura” campaign, highlighting the stories of Latino NFL players, she aims to ignite a new generation’s passion for the sport.

Marissa’s groundbreaking “Run with it” campaign aired at the Super Bowl LVII Commercials 2023, featuring the incredible Diana Flores, has earned accolades, including an Emmy and a 2023 Clio Sports Award. By championing diversity and empowerment through storytelling, Marissa is paving the way for a more inclusive and dynamic football landscape.

She also shared her excitement about flag football becoming an official Olympic sport which will be included in the LA28 Olympic sports program.

Get ready to witness the impact of Marissa Solis as she continues to lead the charge, championing and empowering Latino voices on a global stage.
