Juana Briones Summer Workshop July 9-20, 2018
This is a wonderful opportunity for high school students to learn about the life and times of Juana Briones–entrepreneur, healer, and humanitarian of Afro-mestiza heritage who lived in the Bay Area in the 1800s. The Juana Briones Summer Workshop for high school students will be held at Los Altos History Museum from July 9 to July 20, 2018. Participants will engage in historical research and apply what they learn to create installation pieces for the bilingual exhibition running October 18, 2018 through April 20, 2019. Interested students must apply for program by May 1, 2018.

Latinas & Libros Event April 26, 2018
In collaboration with the SJSU Chicanx/Latinx Student Success Center, Modern Latina presents Latinas & Libros Event on April 26, 2018 at San Jose State University. Join us for an evening to celebrate contributions of Latinas in literature and our Latino heritage. This complimentary event will feature Latina authors sharing their inspirational stories, book signing, Mexican hot chocolate and pan dulce.
