LINDA CASTILLO
Linda Castillo founded Modern Latina in 2005 to celebrate, inspire, and empower Latina women. She launched the Modern Latina Book Club, an online community of book lovers to support Latinx authors. She enjoys writing on topics about Latina leadership, community, entertainment, and more. She is a mother of two young girls, encouraging them to be successful Latina leaders. She is a lifelong learner and enjoys spending time with her family and friends, volunteering, traveling, wine tasting and hiking.
SYLVIA BONILLA
Sylvia Bonilla is an entrepreneur and a 25+ year Silicon Valley advertising, strategy, and partnership expert. After a long corporate career, she is now an Executive and Career Coach and co-founder of Cura, a career accelerator for early career and first-generation workers.
Sylvia launched her career working for several Advertising Agencies. She then spent 17+ years with Google managing Strategic Partnerships for Google’s top U.S. publishing partners. While at Google, Sylvia led the Latino Employee Resource Group (ERG), was a career coach and mentor for Black and Latino Google programs, and facilitated Team Development programs.
As a first-generation college graduate, Sylvia is passionate about empowering the next generation of leaders. Committed to supporting the education and advancement of underrepresented groups in her community, she serves on the Board of Directors for Sacred Heart Nativity Schools in San Jose and the San Jose State University Latino Alumni Network.
Sylvia is a proud mom to her son. She loves exploring hidden gems, live music, and spending time in nature.
ROSE MENDOZA
A second-generation Chicana cultural advocate, and visionary behind Dulce Vida Travel. A tour company that specializes in guided tours & consulting services to Mexican Heritage towns known as “Pueblo Magicos”. These are towns in Mexico with preserved history, folklore, celebrated artisans and culinary specialties. Author of “Mexican Folk Hearts” & Latino Cultural Experiences in America Travel Guides. Rachel Ramirez Garcia
Rachel has written for Modern Latina since 2006, in addition to Carefair.com. Many of her articles reflect her interest and specialty in skin, beauty, and nutrition. Rachel received her Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition from San Jose State University.
